The main character and first Gundam pilot of Gundam Wing is a quiet, seemingly unemotional guy named Heero who was raised from an early age to be an assassin and fighter pilot in hopes of freeing the colonies from oppression. Nothing is known about Heero except that the name "Heero Yuy" is merely a code-name and not Heero's real name, and the name was once the name of a famous colonial pacifist who was assassinated in AC 175. And ironically, the Heero in the series is the ultimate fighter and has incredible skills that surpass all the other Gundam pilots, despite his code-name's seeming pacifistic meanings. Heero does not like to get close to anyone, but don't let that fool you. Deep down, like the others, Heero is a kind-hearted person. Even his Gundam's creator said so.
