Hilde was an OZ volunteer on the L2 Colony who made the mistake of trying to recruite Duo Maxwell for OZ's cause. After Duo showed up for basic training, stole a mobile suit and tried to escape OZ, Hilde and several other soldiers were sent to capture him. Duo and Hilde exchanged some bullets, and Hilde finally won out. However, she found she couldn't execute Duo, because his philosophy seemed so similar to hers. When Duo escaped a second time, she helped him out despite the fact that she would get kicked out of OZ's volunteer unit for doing so. After that, Hilde started a scrape yard and Duo became her main supplier. They hang out together for a while until Trant, one of Hilde's former OZ comrades, shows up with the Wing Zero and demands Duo teach him to pilot it. In the end of the series, Hilde secretly boards the Libra and steals vital information for the Gundam pilots, though she gets wounded in the process and is saved by Duo.
