Series Information

Gundam Wing is an anime series spanning 49 episodes and including one movie (OAV) that's comprised of three episodes.

Almost two hundred years before the anime begins, the establishment of orbiting space colonies around Earth were completed and successfully put into place. These colonies grow for a couple of centuries, but by the year AC 175, there is much disorganization and little communication between the controlling Earth and the colonies. There have also been talks of war between the two, but pacifist leader Heero Yuy has been working tirelessly to end such discussions and create a peaceful solution. This prominent leader was assassinated in AC 175, and after his death, communication ended almost completely.

As several more years pass, the colonies are tired of bending even further under the Earth's military organization - the United Earth Sphere Alliance - and for the past twenty years plans to free the colonies have been underway. By AC 195, five powerful mobile suits with advanced technology are sent to Earth from independent factions, one from each of the five orbiting colonies. Each mobile suit, called a Gundam, contains one elite fighter pilot - a 15-year-old male with extreme skills. These five pilots, completely unaware of each other's existence due to the lack of communication lines, head to Earth with one goal in mind: To free the colonies and destroy the secret organization OZ and the iron-gripping Alliance.

They fall to Earth disguised as meteorites...but they do not go unnoticed by either the Alliance or OZ...

The saga starts from there in Episode 1, and follows through Endless Waltz. As the five Gundam pilots become aware of each other and slowly make friends with each other and various allies, they also learn to grow with each other and eventually recognize that they too are human beings and not just ultimate fighting machines. They have the power to change history, but they soon realize that changing history is not only difficult, but costly and emotionally effecting.
